バーリントがドイツっぽくて良い

今更ながら、この街が文字通り 「バーリント」と呼ばれていることに納得がいかない。
└「ベルリンじゃないなんて信じられない」ってこと？
└彼らのいる国はオスタニアで、「オスト」はドイツ語で「東」を意味します。ロイドのいる国はウェスタリス。適当なのに適当でない名前がすごいですね。

After all this time, I still can’t get over the city literally being called “Berlin’t”
“I Can’t Believe It’s Not Berlin“
The country they are in is Ostania, with “ost” being German for “east”. The country Loid is from is Westalis.
It’s amazing how lazy and yet not lazy the names are.

このアニメは、私が長い間見てきた中で最も面白いアニメでしょう。今から漫画を読みに行きます。

This probably the funniest anime I’ve watch for a long time. Im gonna go read the manga now, the hype delivered

あの駅は確か（ドイツの）アレキサンダー広場でしたね。

I’m pretty sure that train station was Alexanderplatz.

スーパーマーケットはDLIDという名前です。ドイツのディスカウントスーパーマーケットチェーンのLIDLが元ネタでしょうか？

Then the grocery store is called DLID. Is this the Sudohbucks version of Lidl?

一番最初の地図に興味を持った人がいますね。私は、この地図がドイツ北部の地図を少し修正したものだと思っています。左上にドイツ北部の海岸線とデンマークのユトランド半島が見えています。

東ドイツと西ドイツを修正しただけのようで、設定に合っていますね。ベルリントと呼ぶのは、異世界のドイツをイメージしているのだと思います。

If you caught the map at the very start, I’m pretty confident that it is a slightly modified map of northern Germany. You can see the northern German coastline and the Danish peninsula of Jutland in the upper left corner.
It’s seems to just be a modified version of East and West Germany, which fits the setting. Calling it Berlint is just a nod to a slightly alternate reality Germany in my opinion.

フランキーが面白い

ヨルの同僚が「女子社員の情報が盗まれた」と話しているところに、フランキーがファイルを持って現れるという展開がありましたね笑

In case anyone didn’t notice there’s the continuity that Yor’s coworkers are discussing how someone stole the information on the female workers, then Franky turns up with said files haha
Haha yes. I was thinking, “Loid wouldn’t have left a trace,” but Franky… much more believable

さらに、近所の女性がスパイの疑いで逮捕されたとも言っています。そしてロイドは、自分の組織の女性たちが最近政府に捕まったと言った。

Plus them saying a neighborhood woman was arrested, suspected as a spy. Then Loid saying some women in his organization were caught by the government recently.

ロイドが10秒で20人倒す戦闘シーンが忘れられない

ロイドが10秒で20人を倒した、あの独特のアニメーションを使った最高な戦闘シーンについて誰も語らない。

同僚はケチな女

あの同僚はケチな女だな。旦那はまともそうだけどな お悔やみを言うよ

That coworker is some petty bitch. Her husband seems like a decent guy though. My condolences, dude.

ヨルの同僚はとても嫌味で猫なで声だったのが最悪だった。でも、カミラの部下はヨルと5秒話しただけで彼女の兄を知ってるからって、突然ヨルの評判を全部落とそうとするんだ。

しっかり、ロイドとヨアは彼女に仕返しをすることができました。

Yor’s co-workers being so judgmental and catty were the worst. But Camilla’s man just talks to Yor for five seconds because he knows her brother and suddenly she wants to ruin Yor’s entire reputation.
Thankfully Loid and Yor were able to dish it back to her.

カミラがイライラしているのを見るのは辛かった、なぜ彼氏（ドミニク）がまだいるのか分からない

it was hard to watch her be annoying, i have no idea why she still has a boyfriend

特に印象的だったのは、最後のコマで彼女が髪を直して落ち着き、まるで自分自身を見つめ直す時間を持ったかのように見えることです。

こんなマイナーなキャラクターなのに、ちょっとだけ深みを持たせるために、キャラクターを成長させたように感じました。

他のアニメで似たような「小娘」キャラが何度も…小娘のまま、最後の最後まで負けたことに腹を立てていることを考えてみてください。でも、彼女は違う。彼女は、ロイドとヨルに教えを受けた後、すっかり落ち着いてしまったのです。

また脇役に至るまで、細部まで丁寧に描かれているため、この作品の世界観に独特の雰囲気を与えています。

What really got me was how in the last panel we see her she fixes her hair and calms down, as if she was having a moment to reflect on herself. Shes such a minor character and yet it feels like she got a little splash of character development just to give her depth. Think about how many times in other anime similar “petty bitch” characters just…stay petty, angry that they lost even up until the very end. But not her. She calmed the fuck down after she got schooled by the power couple.
So much detail and depth given to even the most minor supporting cast gives the story’s world that nice lived in feel that makes it so special.

同僚たちが全員が卑屈になっていました。冒頭の「独身女性は可哀想だ」の一点張りからパーティ中の意地悪な噂話まで聞いてられなかった。

Coworkers. All of them were despicable, from the whole “single women are pitiful” at the beginning of the episode to their mean gossiping during the party.

殴打療法www

Every psychiatrist in the world are shaking in their boots.

このアニメは、東ドイツじゃないほう VS 西ドイツじゃないほうを舞台にしている。 戦争当時は電気ショックでイカれると思われていたが

I mean, this show is based in not-East Germany vs not-West Germany
Back then people thought you could electric shock the crazy out of people.

ロイドが「精神科医」だからということで、いろいろと説明してくれて、ヨルも納得してくれたのがよかったです。

手榴弾の説明もいらなかったし！

I love how Loid explained away so much because of his being a “psychiatrist” and Yor just bought it.
And he didn’t even need to explain the grenade!

機械に効くのだから、生物にも効くのでは？

i mean it works for machines, why wouldn’t it work on biological machinery

昔、精神科医は治療法として脳にアイスピックを刺したものです。心理学は長い間違った道のりを歩んできました。

Psychiatrists used to take an icepick to the brain as a cure. Psychology has come a long way.

当時の精神科の治療はロボトミーや電気ショック療法が主流でしたから、患者を殴るというのは、それほど突飛なことではありません。

To be fair to yor this strikes me as 1950-60s ish and phychiatric treatment at that time usually involved lobotomies and straight up electocuting them so out right punching a patient is probably not as far fetched as it sounds

でも、手榴弾はちょっとやりすぎかもしれないね

But I think a hand grenade might be a bit too much
